Fantasy F1 2019 :: Rules
The InjuredLizard Fantasy F1 2019 season corresponds to the real world F1 2019 season, starting on Saturday 16th March 2019 with the Rolex Australian Grand Prix, and running through until the season finishes with the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday 1st December 2019. You can join in at any time.
You must choose a team to earn points for you for each race. The deadline for team changes is the start of Saturday practice. If you have not chosen a team by this point, your previous team will be carried forward.
This team consists of one 'A' driver, two 'B' drivers and a 'C'onstructor. The drivers are split according to their past performance, and this will not change during the season.
Each driver and constructor can earn points for you a maximum of five (5) times during the season. After this they will not earn points for you, even if you have them selected.
Each race is replicated in the fantasy world, with the top ten drivers receiving points 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1 respectively. In addition, the setter of the fastest lap in the race earns 5 points, and the top four starting positions (i.e after any penalties have taken place) receive 8, 6, 4 and 2 points. A single driver can therefore earn a maximum of 38 points, a constructor 62, and your team 143 .
Any penalties suffered by a driver after the race will be reflected in the Fantasy. Should a driver not start the race - i.e. show as DNS in the official results on Formula1.com, he did not start in the Fantasy world either. If the real race is only half points, the Fantasy race is half points. If the real race is double points, the Fantasy race is double points. And so on. Scores will be updated on InjuredLizardFantasyF1 once they are confirmed results on Formula1.com (and after the Lizard has seen the race).
